PaleoScan™ Blending Viewers

PaleoScan™ Blending Viewers

The Blending Viewers is a special function in PaleoScan which allows the interpreters to blend and visualize simultaneously two or three objects with different types of data in both 2D and 3D domains. The Blending Viewer has two or three channels. The input for the Blending Viewers channels can vary from 3D volumes, 3D Horizon Stack to 3D single horizons, and 2D seismic lines (Fig. 1)
Figure 1: 2-channel Volume Blending viewer is displayed. The first channel is 3D Seismic volume. The second channel is the 3D RGT Model. The users can control the transparency between two channels by moving the slide bar at the center of the viewer.

The displayed data in each channel can be seismic attributes, Z values, values from velocity models, or inversion cubes. Thus, this feature can be very powerful when it comes to QC the 3D Relative Geologic Time model (Fig. 1) or visualize the Horizon Stack with different seismic attributes blended for better prospect delineation (Fig. 2, 3).
Figure 2: 2-channel Horizon Stack blending viewer is showing the blend between the first channel - Envelope attribute Horizon Stack and the second one - Coherency attribute Horizon Stack. The blending is automatically applied on every horizon of the Horizon Stack.

Figure 3: 3-channel Color Blending Horizon Stack viewer with Alpha Blending method is shown in 3D. The triangle on the top right corner represents the proportion of each channel in the blending viewer. The first and second channels are Envelope and Coherency Horizon Stacks respectively. The third channel is the Z values with contouring Horizon Stack.

Also, the Cross-plot tool is integrated into the Blending Viewer in order to visualize the value points from each channel and extract them as geobodies (see PaleoScan™ Geobody Extraction ).
