Eliis Enters Next Phase of Collaboration with Chevron: Advancing Subsurface Interpretation & Modeling

Eliis enters the second phase of its strategic collaboration with Chevron Technical Center—further integrating Chevron’s AI and modeling technologies into PaleoScan™—reaffirming both companies’ commitment to driving innovation in subsurface characterization and reservoir modeling.

Montpellier, France, February 17, 2025 -- Eliis SAS (Eliis) is pleased to announce the second phase of its strategic collaboration with Chevron Technical Center, a division of Chevron U.S.A. Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX), expanding the integration of Chevron’s artificial intelligence (AI) and modeling technologies into Eliis’s PaleoScan™ platform.

This phase introduces advanced Fault Modeling and Editing capabilities using Chevron’s implicit modeling method. This innovative approach enables the construction of a coherent fault system from AI fault detection cubes, minimizing the need for cumbersome manual extraction workflows and editing of individual faults and their relationships even in the most complex geological contexts.

This advancement marks a significant step toward Eliis’s ambition of providing a streamlined workflow from seismic data to 3D reservoir modeling by facilitating a clean set of faults ready to be integrated into a reservoir grid.

Fault modeling is traditionally one of the most time-consuming steps in standard modeling workflows, where AI can greatly minimize manual work and heavy quality control. “Our first product from the Chevron Technical Center collaboration, AI FaultAssist, has been widely accepted by clients as outperforming other market tools for fault detection,” said Eliis’s Chief Operating Officer, Francois Lafferriere. “It was an essential first step, but with this new tool, we are now unlocking the full potential of AI with a complete, AI-driven Fault Modeling solution.”

The collaboration reaffirms both companies’ commitment to advancing the state of subsurface characterization and reservoir modeling through technology and innovation.
