Senior Geoscientist (Americas)

We are looking for a Senior Geoscientist to join our new R&D branch in Brazil and contribute to developing the next generation of geoscience technologies.

About the Role

Location: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Languages: Portuguese, English (fluent)

Your Responsibilities

R&D Project Development

• Design and implement technical solutions for seismic processing, interpretation, numerical simulations, machine learning, and data science.
• Develop workflows and algorithms to enhance seismic interpretation efficiency.
• Provide clear technical instructions to software developers.
• Write scientific papers and reports to document research findings.
• Prepare and deliver presentations for stakeholders.

Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with the development team in Montpellier, France, maintaining regular communication in English.
• Collaborate with geoscientists and developers both within Eliis and our academic partners.

What you Bring

Education & Experience

• Degree in Geology or Geophysics (MSc or DSc degrees are a plus).
• 5-10 years of experience in geoscience roles (experience in scientific software development is a plus).
• Knowledge of programming (Python and/or C++).
• Previous experience in R&D projects.
• Experience with Machine Learning solutions.

Skills

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Algorithmic thinking and ability to develop efficient workflows.
• Excellent communication skills, able to work independently and collaborate with remote teams.
