IT System & Network Engineer

We are seeking a System & Network Engineer to strengthen our IT team. In this role, you will support both internal users—primarily software developers and geoscientists—and external clients by diagnosing and resolving technical issues, particularly those related to our product, PaleoScan™.

This position involves maintaining and optimizing our IT infrastructure, supporting automation initiatives, and contributing to the scalability of our systems. You will also become proficient in the installation and support of our software solutions.

About the Role

Your Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the company's IT infrastructure, and plan for future hardware and system needs
• Maintain and enhance our Infrastructure as Code (IaC) framework and automation processes
• Update and manage operating systems and ensure compliance with security best practices
• Provide technical support to internal users and external clients
• Diagnose and resolve software, network, and hardware issues
• Deliver on-site or remote assistance as required
• Oversee and support software licensing systems
• Liaise with external IT service providers when necessary

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
• Proven experience in technical support and system/network administration
• Strong experience with VMware environments (ESXi and vCenter)
• Solid knowledge of Kubernetes
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell
• Familiarity with tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, and Jira
• Proficiency with Docker and Docker Compose
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Packer)
• Understanding of networking, APIs, and IP protocols
• Good knowledge of computer hardware and system configuration
• Strong time management, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to resolve complex technical issues efficiently and independently
• Critical thinking and a structured approach to troubleshooting
• Experience in the geoscience sector is an advantage
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) is a plus
